“ There are some people who come into your life and leave a mark on your heart forever, and Lori Martin is one of those people for me. ❤️ When my children and I came back home from Georgia, our lives had changed overnight. I had gone from building a new home and a new dream to returning pregnant, with my children, starting over with little more than the clothes on our backs — just in time to welcome my fourth baby into the world. And then came Lori Martin and her incredible village at Revive & Restore. What could have been one of the most frightening transitions of my life was met with love, generosity, compassion, and support. They didn’t just help us fill a home with the things we needed — they helped make an empty space feel like home again. They took what felt like an impossible weight off a mama’s shoulders and reminded me that, even though life had changed overnight, my babies and I were going to be okay. Revive & Restore is so much more than an organization — it is people showing up for people when life happens unexpectedly. My children and I are living proof of the difference your village makes. “In the beginning, we were struggling. We had a roof over our heads, but even that was a daily fight. It was Noah, Xander, and me in a motel and we couldn’t figure out how to get help. We heard about a weekly outreach at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church where people would listen to us and help. We almost didn’t go then when we got there, we almost left. Staying was one of the most important decisions we ever made. We met Gaby and she told Miss Lori about our situation, then Miss Ruth came into our lives. With the help of these women and the ministry, with the time and energy that they all put in, we would go from being one step away from homelessness to eventually being in our own home for the first time in over a year. We wouldn’t be where we are today without all of them. It’s not just an organization that helped us, they became family and we are forever grateful.”

“For 17 years, I lived the nightmare of losing my family, career, home, and freedom overnight. When I first became homeless, I was completely alone—angry, hopeless, and without faith. I relied on people on the streets just to survive. I went from shelter to shelter, ministry to ministry, but I never felt seen. I was just another number, another tax write‑off. The loneliness was unbearable, and I lost all hope of ever getting my life back.
After years of merely existing, I stopped trying. I gave up on getting clean clothes, a shower, or even reaching out to family. I felt done with the world.
Then one day, I met Lori at her outreach. Watching her interact with the homeless community made me smile for the first time in a long time. As I got to know her and learned about Revive & Restore, something in me shifted. I began to believe my life could change.
With their help, I was blessed with a beautiful apartment, fully furnished. I was baptized at Lori’s church and regained my faith, my hope, and my reason to live. Revive & Restore gave me my life back.
I’m just beginning this new journey, but knowing Lori was there from the start reminds me that there truly are good people in this world.”
